The North Orange shopping centre acts as a Neighbourhood Activity Centre (NAC) for the expanding surrounding community offering diverse retail facilities and services.

The centre layout has been designed to activate the external facade fronting the car park with a number of the tenancies being restaurant and food shops with direct access via a covered canopy along its façade providing shelter and sun-shading. The canopy is linked to the main entry canopy which acts as the central focal point of the site. The canopy features an aluminium composite panel soffit, which is up lit at night, laminated timber beams and columns, and a washed aggregate patterned pavement. Seating areas and landscaping under the main canopy offers customers an inviting meeting place to wait for a taxi or bus or simply to use as a resting place.  The main access to the internal mall is via a glazed airlock from this area.
